In 2023, the @royalacademyantwerp will blow out 360 candles! It’s about a position not in time but in space: 360° Academy.

In 1663, artist David Teniers took the initiative to establish the Antwerp Academy. This made it one of the very first art schools in the world. Instead of looking back and forward, they are now looking 360° around them during this 360th anniversary. How is the Academy positioned in the world, and how does the world work in the Academy? With 360° Academy in 2023, they reflect on their role in the contemporary arts landscape and their position in the global art world in dialogue and interaction.

360° Academy is an invitation to all 'friends & peers' to connect with the Academy in all its facets. The 360° Academy programme kicks off during the 2023 Drawing Marathon and aims to focus on a June 2023 highlight during the festive year in addition to its regular cultural programme.

With the SHOW and Masters Expo coming up, the month of June an sich already constitutes a concentrated bundle of events that highlight the core values (inter)nationally. In honour of the anniversary, they put an additional focus on networking, alumni outreach and celebration!
